Clarion_LedgerEmerald Johnson, like other teenagers, likes to get together with her friends to hang out and talk about each other’s lives.

Lately, those get-togethers include note-swapping “to find out where all we’ve been applying” for jobs, said the 17-year-old, soon-to-be senior at Gulfport’s West Harrison High School, noting she and her friends haven’t had any luck so far this summer.

Chris Lawson president of Eli Daniel Group, a Texas-based job staffing/consulting firm chimes in on the subject.
